Topics Covered: Creative Exploration, Inspiration, Color, Setting up a Quilting Business
I initiated Creative Play to chronicle my attempts to break out of my traditional quilting box and to try new techniques, products, experiment based on books, etc. Over the years, I have explored fabric painting, thread painting, dyeing, and many other techniques, as well as the history of quilting across the world. In time, I have also begun to work through the process of making a business out of quilting and developing products for sale.

Though I dabbled in sewing as a child, I didn’t become a quilter until after I finished college. In the days between the end of exams and graduation, I decided that I would need a hobby to fill the hours of free time that I would have since I would no longer be studying, bought a couple of books, and started quilting. In the more than ten years since, quilting has gone from being a hobby to keep my hands busy after work to an absolute passion.
My quilt studio is in our lakeside dream house in the Berkshires and when not there, I live in the Boston area. When not quilting, I work as an Internet Business Consultant and play by reading and gardening (and quilting, of course!).
